Students will explore the realm of existing traditional, board and digital games to analyse its various aspects. Themes covered include game rules and mechanics, themes and genres, player types, gamification and immersion levels. Students will also be acquainted with the formal elements, dramatic elements and narrative structures in game design.
With these insights, students will be able to analyse games and play experiences. The critical and technical skills they gain will also enable them to conceptualise their own games and gamification projects.
