Strategically planning the design of our buildings and infrastructure, and how we manage our green spaces are vital in bolstering our efforts and initiatives to develop an eco-friendly campus. We tap on smart technologies to reduce carbon emissions, energy and water usage, and waste generation.

We are dedicated to minimising our campus’ carbon footprint, which entails transitioning to cleaner energy sources and optimising how we use energy.

Energy efficient campus

We are upgrading our campus to be energy efficient. This includes using energy-saving lights, upgrading to efficient air conditioning, and maximising solar panel installation.

Cooling systems

We are implementing several smart water-saving initiatives. This involves connecting rainwater tanks to our cooling systems and using wireless meters to detect water leaks. We have also installed rain sensors to reduce irrigation water consumption. By collecting rainwater and reusing it, we aim to optimise water usage and rely less on external water sources in our facilities.

We are taking concrete steps to enhance our waste management. This includes installing food digesters across all food & beverage outlets. Additionally, RP is collaborating with industry partners in piloting a trial using black soldier flies to process and upcycle food waste into animal feed. This initiative offers a secure and sanitised solution for segregating and repurposing food waste.

Roadmap to 2030

RP has not only exceeded GreenGov.SG's targets but has set more ambitious goals in the RP Green Plan. Our targets focus on reducing carbon emissions, energy consumption, water usage and waste generation. We have established these goals using baselines from the year 2018 for carbon, the average of 2018–2020 for energy and water, and 2022 for general waste.
