Republic Polytechnic String Ensemble comprises of students with a passion for string instruments such as the violin, viola, cello and double bass.

The interest group has two trainers. The first trainer Dr Yeo is the ensemble’s conductor and trains the violinists and violists section. He is also a freelance Violist for Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the Leader Mentor of the Viola section in Orchestra of Music Makers (OMM).  The second trainer Ms Tang Jia trains the cellists and bassists section. She is also a resident cellist for Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

Under the baton of Dr Yeo, String Ensemble has pushed boundaries and performed at various platforms such as Reflections Arts Festival, Arts Platter series and IGNITE! Tribute VII (2019).
