As one of the pioneer sports teams in RP, the Tennis team was first formed in 2003 in the humble compounds of the Tanglin campus where RP began her sporting roots. Though an individual sport, the tennis team works together as one to encourage all players to seize every opportunity that amplifies both their physical and mental capabilities. Both the RP male and female teams compete in the POL-ITE Games, and has done well in recent years. The players are also given the opportunity to compete in the Singapore Tennis Association tournaments.

Other than competing in the tertiary tournaments, the tennis team also organises its own tournament, the RP Tennis Open Championships, which is open to all RP staff and students. The aim is simple - provide experience and fun while promoting this increasingly popular sport. The players are also trained officials and volunteered at the WTA Championships 2014 and SEA Games 2015 in Singapore.
