This programme is useful for students who are interested in working with Chinese companies or in markets connected to China. It also prepares you for university studies in areas such as cross-cultural management and Chinese economic policy, as well as careers that require an understanding of China’s business environment.
Lessons are conducted in English.
Curriculum Structure
Module 1: Understanding Contemporary China Business Perspectives
This is an introductory module for students to understand the economic developments in China and gain new perspectives on the Chinese Business Environment. Students will be introduced to the considerations, dynamics and strategies of running an international business in China. Students will discover the dynamic changes in the business environment of China (such as “One Belt, One Road”, “Digital Economy”, and “Made in China 2025” initiatives) and their impact on international business. Students will also delve into contemporary strategies for starting and operating an international business and learn how to manage the key functions of the international business in China. Key concepts and terminologies will be introduced in both English and Chinese to provide students with better contextual knowledge.
Module 2: Cross-Cultural Management in China
This module introduces students to broad principles and issues related to cross-cultural business interactions in China, as well as provides opportunities for students to develop cross-cultural networking, communication and negotiation skills. Students will learn to communicate and negotiate effectively with business contacts and develop strategies to close the cultural gap. This module will allow students to understand the protocol, manners and culture of China to allow them to better interact with the Chinese counterparts in future. It will also bring across the Dos and Don’ts of Chinese etiquette and how to apply the basic principles of hosting Chinese counterparts. Key concepts and terminology will be introduced in both English and Chinese to provide students with better contextual knowledge.
Assessment
There are no written examinations.
Assessment is based on:

Graduation Criteria
To pass each module, you must achieve at least 80% attendance.
To be awarded the Certificate in China Business Perspectives Programme, you must successfully pass both modules.
If you pass only one module, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for that module.
Schedule
The full programme runs from April 2026 to January 2027, over a period of nine months.
Classes are held on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 9.30pm during term time. There are no lessons during the exam period or on public holidays.
Each module consists of 10 lessons, with 30 contact hours per module. The two modules are completed over 20 lessons in total.
Lessons are delivered through Home-Based Learning interactive seminars and e-learning sessions.
Entry Requirements
The CCBPP programme is open to all RP Year 1 and Year 2 students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Each intake is estimated at 40 students. Applicants with higher GPAs will be considered first, subject to available places. As places are limited, shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview. Preference may be given to students who show strong interest in China’s economy, business environment, culture and digital development.
Eligible students will be notified and will commence the programme in Semester 1 of AY2026/2027.
Fees
The course fee is S$180 (excluding GST) for the full certificate programme.
