A246 Epidemiology and Public Health
Students will study public health concerns, focusing on disease and injury control within communities.
The module covers the different types of epidemiologic studies, as well as surveillance techniques and methods of investigation of disease outbreaks. It also includes health promotion strategies and techniques along with the implementations to motivate behavioural change and to plan, organise and deliver public health services. Current trends in epidemiology, such as genetic, molecular and environmental aspects, will also be explored. Students will learn how to perform statistical analysis to interpret epidemiological data.
