A360 Bioinformatics
This module introduces students to the fundamental concepts of bioinformatics and demonstrates how computational approaches can be applied to tackle biological questions. It covers the ways genomics, proteomics and protein structure data are stored and accessed.
Students will explore a range of bioinformatics tools and databases to interpret gene and protein function and investigate biological processes and human disease. The module includes hands-on computer lab sessions, giving students direct experience working with real biological datasets.
