A379 Environmental Pollution Control and Technology
This module provides an overview of environmental pollution and its impacts on human health and ecosystems.
It covers topics in pollution science, including environmental chemistry, prevention, treatment technologies, regulatory frameworks, and management practices (e.g., water audit), as well as nature-based solutions. Lab sessions and field trips are included to reinforce key concepts. Students will also learn about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) – a computer-based tool for analysing geospatial data, and its application in environmental monitoring by remote sensing with satellite imagery.
