A398 Medication Safety and Sustainability
Medication Safety and Sustainability explores the practices aimed at minimising medication errors and enhancing medication safety, while also examining how sustainable healthcare practices can enhance the quality of patient care and mitigate environmental impact.
Students will learn about pharmacy automation, unit-dose packaging and dispensing, barcode medication administration technology, inventory management of high-risk medications and medication reconciliation. Students will also explore environmentally conscious practices within healthcare settings, focusing on the incorporation of sustainability principles into medication prescribing, dispensing, administration, and the management of pharmaceutical waste.
