In today’s highly information-driven society, it is important to understand how to determine the validity of statistical reports and interpret such reports to make informed decisions.

Understanding Business Statistics will lay the foundation for students to be equipped with quantitative skills. This module will introduce students to the basic elements of statistics. It is designed to equip students with the statistical research skills from data analysis through manual means and software, data representation and interpretation that will allow them to make informed decisions or projections. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, commonly encountered continuous probability distributions, sampling methodology, hypothesis testing, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), linear regression, and forecasting.
