C305 Understanding Artificial Intelligence

This module builds practical artificial intelligence (AI) literacy for non-technical learners, focusing on business and workplace use. Students will explore how AI has evolved and how these technologies recognise patterns, make predictions, generate content, and perform tasks.

Through hands-on business scenarios, students will learn to apply AI to address business problems, select appropriate AI technologies for different needs, and examine AI's capabilities and limitations, as well as the opportunities, risks, and societal implications of adoption.

The module prepares students to be informed users of AI rather than developers of AI systems. Students will be equipped to evaluate, select, and use AI tools confidently, responsibly, and effectively in professional, academic, and everyday contexts.
