C335 Internetworking Security
This module provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in network security and threat detection within modern IT environments.
It introduces key networking concepts such as protocols, ports, and services, forming the basis for analysing network behaviour. Students will learn how to analyse network traffic for abnormal activity and respond to potential security threats.
They will gain hands-on experience in monitoring network activity, applying basic detection techniques, and identifying suspicious patterns and indicators of compromise, including those associated with malware, spoofing, and web-based attacks.
The module also exposes students to firewall technologies and network security controls, including concepts such as network segmentation and access control. Students will learn to apply layered security measures to support the secure operation of networked systems in line with industry practices.
