E217 Inventory Management

This module introduces the principles and practices of inventory management and their application in real-world logistics environments.

Students learn systematic approaches to managing different inventory types using models such as Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), inventory review systems, and control methods including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Vendor-Managed Inventory (VMI). Through hands-on sessions with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, students examine the strategic role of inventory within supply chains.

The module also explores how AI technologies enhance replenishment decisions and how sustainable inventory practices minimise waste and improve resource efficiency. By the end of the module, students gain the skills to manage inventory effectively in technology-enabled, sustainable logistics environments.
