G126 Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving in the Age of AI
The module aims to equip students with essential critical thinking skills for navigating an AI-driven world where information, media, and decisions are increasingly shaped by digital tools and algorithms.
Students will learn to evaluate AI-generated content, verify information, and identify bias, misinformation, and flawed reasoning in both human and AI outputs.
Through hands-on exploration of prompt and context engineering, students will discover how the quality of their thinking directly influences the quality of AI responses. The module also introduces structured thinking processes and systems thinking to help students understand how algorithms, media platforms, and digital environments shape perceptions, behaviours, and beliefs.
Students will also examine the ethical and responsible use of AI, developing the judgement to think independently, work effectively with AI as a thinking partner, and make informed decisions in complex real-world contexts.
