H228 Sustainability in Events
The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry has a significant environmental impact through travel, energy consumption, and waste generation. As sustainability becomes a strategic priority, event professionals are expected to deliver events that balance environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
This module equips students with the knowledge and practical skills to plan and deliver sustainable events in collaboration with industry stakeholders. Students will explore sustainability challenges, apply responsible event management practices, and develop strategies to reduce environmental impact through sustainable procurement, resource management, waste reduction, and stakeholder engagement.
The module aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and Singapore Green Plan 2030, preparing students to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient events industry.
