H240 Sustainable Tourism Development

This module will introduce the concepts of sustainable tourism development, its characteristics and principles.

Students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of maintaining and preserving local cultures and traditions, and the protection and conservation of natural resources of the destination. They will learn about the involvement of tourists and the local community in maintaining the integrity of the tourist places. Students will also learn how digital technologies can benefit the environment and community. In addition, students will learn the concept of circular economy and how the industry is incorporating Sustainable Development Goals into their business models and practices.
