S255 Health Psychology and Sociology of Illness and Health

This module introduces the students to the fields of health psychology and sociology of health and illness, particularly for older adults.

Students will explore the links between mental processes and behaviours as related to health and illnesses. They will examine the factors that influence behaviour in modern society and appreciate ageing as a sociological phenomenon. This module encourages critical awareness of psychological and sociological theories and methodology in maintaining healthy functioning.
