S264 Instructional Strategies for Sports and Games II

This module equips students with the competencies to plan, conduct, and evaluate coaching sessions using the Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) approach.

Students will learn to apply key pedagogical concepts such as Shaping Play, Guided Discovery, Focusing Play, and Enhancing Play to develop tactical awareness and technical skills. The module emphasises learner-centred instruction that fosters decision-making and creativity across target, striking-and-fielding, invasion, and net-barrier games. Students will integrate feedback and peer assessment to refine their instructional methods and demonstrate the ability to deliver complete, well-structured coaching sessions independently.
