T218 Electronic Music
This module offers an exploration into sound synthesis techniques using both hardware and software instruments to create diverse timbres and sound textures for sound design and studio production.
Through hands-on activities in a studio-like environment, students will learn various synthesis methods and use performance interfaces and music sequencing systems. Collaborative mini assignments with industry-standard tools, such as software and hardware synthesisers, MIDI controllers and digital audio workstations, enable students to master progressive sound generation techniques. By the end of the module, students will produce original sound designs and articulate the concepts behind the various synthesis techniques.
