Best practices for a successful internship

To create a win-win experience, we encourage you to adopt the following practices, commonly used by successful industry partners:

• Assign meaningful work that helps students acquire or deepen skills aligned with their course of study

• Involve interns in meetings, projects, or job rotations to give them broader exposure to your business operations and challenges

• Promote cross-functional engagement and provide constructive feedback to help students build professional communication, problem-solving abilities, and workplace ethics

We also recommend submitting an On-the-Job Training (OJT) Blueprint, aligned with SkillsFuture’s Enhanced Internship framework. This allows for a structured, skills-focused learning experience and helps students contribute more effectively.

When submitting internship roles via our RP Internship Placement System, please include the OJT Blueprint along with the job requirements. Submissions with a completed OJT Blueprint will be prioritised.
