This course covers basic concepts in machine learning and the use of various open-source libraries like scikit-learn, Tensorflow and Keras to build basic machine learning application with perceptron, K nearest neighbours, neural networks, SVMs, decision trees and unsupervised learning. Students will also be introduced to XGBoost and other ensemble methods to solve classification and regression problems.

Machine Learning Fundamentals is a module from the Specialist Diploma in Applied Generative Artificial Intelligence. It enables participants to acquire new skills or deepen relevant skills without the need to pursue a full specialist diploma. As this is a stackable course, participants may choose to complete the remaining modules within the validity period, of 2 years, to be awarded the full Specialist Diploma qualification.
Target Audiences
This course is designed for individuals with a keen interest to acquire new skills in Machine Learning models such as Linear Regression, k-NN, Naïve Bayes and K-Means, python libraries such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, and Numpy.
Basic Python skills is required.
