Course description

This course is intended to improve your data analytics abilities. You will learn to create analytic models and construct effective DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas in Power BI, transforming complicated data into meaningful insights.

You will also learn to use Power BI's natural language query to perform basic data-related inquiries. The course also covers Power BI's machine learning tools for forecasting and root cause analysis, as well as how to trigger data alerts - all necessary skills in today's data-driven corporate climate.

You will learn to secure, distribute, and manage Power BI data assets while effectively maintaining data integrity and collaborating. The course also covers the optimisation of Power BI settings for improved performance and data management.

This course supplements the Analytics with Power BI course, which completes the curriculum required for the Power BI Data Analyst Associate Exam PL-300 and is a mandatory step for individuals pursuing certification and proficiency in Power BI Data Analytics.  

Course objectives

Upon completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Design optimum data models for Power BI

  • Write DAX formulas to create measures, calculated tables, and columns.

  • Use DAX time intelligence, iterator, and filter functions.

  • Analyse data using natural language query and AI Visuals for forecasting and root-cause analysis.

  • Incorporate interactivity in visualizations with bookmarks and buttons.

  • Implement Power BI security features to restrict data access for given users.

  • Share, publish and keep data current using Power BI Service.
