This 2.5-year programme is the only diploma in the CET landscape that develops skills and knowledge in live entertainment, event management, and digital media production to prepare learners for the fast-evolving creative industries.
Through practice-oriented learning, you will:
Develop industry-ready production and event management capabilities, including cross-team coordination, venue operations, and full event-lifecycle planning.
Build technical proficiency across live and digital production, including live audio engineering, multi-camera streaming, post-production editing, sound design, lighting design, set construction, CAD drafting, and audiovisual integration.
Strengthen creative and entrepreneurial competencies by exploring producer roles, designing impactful audience engagement strategies, and developing sustainable professional practices in a gig-based economy.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the diploma, learners will be able to:
Coordinate production teams, plan event logistics and operational workflows, and oversee venue operations and audience services to deliver professional event experiences.
Create professional content across digital mediums by leveraging AI tools and emerging technology while showcasing teamwork and ethical decision-making in creative processes.
Design and manage audio and multi-camera video content that is enhanced through post-production and motion graphics for a range of hybrid and live events that meet industry standards.
Manage and enhance live productions and entertainment events to support a given artistic vision by leveraging stagecraft, lighting and audio-visual technology.
Produce engaging, immersive shows and events for diverse audiences and develop professional practices in the gig economy, including pitching ideas, managing projects, and securing work.

The Diploma in Design and Media (Digital Entertainment and Events) will be issued upon meeting 50% of attendance requirement and passing all coursework and assessment.

Through interactive discussions and presentations, you will build the skills required to succeed in the events sector and gain a clear understanding of what makes an event successful. |
Production Stage Management (60 hours) | You will gain an overview of the leadership and practical live entertainment competencies required to schedule and manage events. You will explore the roles of production and stage managers in coordinating creative and production departments to realize a common artistic vision, and you will cultivate effective communication techniques necessary for an efficient, safe, and economical production process. |
Venue and Front-of-House Management (60 hours) | You will learn about the functions of performance venues and front-of-house operations, operational practices for venue usage, and how to troubleshoot operational issues faced by venue managers and front-of-house staff in live entertainment. You will acquire skills in managing venue bookings, working with hirers, and overseeing front-of-house operations, including customer experience, box office management, and general venue safety. |

Through practice, you will build skills in idea development, critical evaluation, and constructive feedback, developing the confidence to share perspectives, propose improvements, and apply strategies to enhance your own creative output. |
Generative AI for Creative Professionals (30 hours) | You will examine how artificial intelligence can enhance creativity, innovation, and productivity in the creative industries. You will develop skills in using AI prompting tools to generate ideas, tackle creative challenges, and refine your work. You will also explore AI fundamentals, practical applications, and ethical considerations in the use of AI. |
Principles of Sound Design (45 hours) | You will be introduced to the core elements of sound production and manipulation. You will acquire skills and knowledge about signal flow, recording techniques, and audio editing and mixing using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Topics include Digital Signal Processing (DSP), generative AI tools for innovative sound creation, and the use of Sound Effects (SFX) libraries with attention to copyright. The module culminates in a project where you design a narrated soundscape for an event, museum installation, or theatre production, combining technical expertise with creative storytelling. |

Drafting for Productions (30 hours) | You will learn to create technical drawings for lighting, scenic, sound, and staging designs in theatre and live events. You will translate hand-drawn plans—such as lighting layouts, set designs, and floor plans—into digital formats using 2D and 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Drafting skills are developed to meet the United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) standards, a widely recognized benchmark in Singapore and internationally. |
