About course
Course objectives
Upon completion of the programme, participants will be able to:
Design a scalable cloud-computing environment with availability and latency considerations
Configure essential cloud services and perform provisioning of cloud resources
Apply the cloud migration framework and cloud implementation knowledge
Perform day-to-day operations to automate, monitor, secure, maintain and troubleshoot cloud services necessary to support business applications.
Identify both technological and non-technological security threats and risks, and adopt mitigation measures to reduce the threats and risks in the cloud environment
Acquire fundamental skills in DevOps, which helps to gel application development and the operating environment to achieve deployment consistency and scalability in Cloud environments
Course description
The 2022 Skills Demand for the Future Economy Report by SkillsFuture Singapore highlights that the Cloud, Systems and Infrastructure domain has high demand growth, and is one of the emerging domains for the Digital Economy. Similarly, in the 2023/2024 report, knowledge and skills in Cloud were highlighted in digital job roles such as Data Analysts and Security Engineers. The SkillsFuture Jobs & Skills Insights in 2025 highlights demand for cloud professionals continue to soar as remote work, digitalisation and GenAI reshape industries.
These are areas fulfilled by the Specialist Diploma in Cloud Architecting & Management (SDCAM), which equips participants with the skills and knowledge in cloud computing architecting, cloud migration and implementation, cloud security, thus providing a pathway for those who aspire to pursue a career in the growing industry of Cloud Computing.
Target audiences
Individuals who possess a IT-related diploma or degree or adults working in IT jobs who are looking to upgrade their skills to specialise in cloud-centric roles such as Cloud Engineer, Solution Architect, Cloud Administrator, etc.

Cloud Architecting Project | This project allows learners to apply the knowledge and skills gained from PDC in Cloud Architecting, covering Cloud Architecture to configure and provision cloud resources. |

They will also perform day-to-day operations to automate, monitor, secure, maintain and troubleshoot cloud services necessary to support business applications. |
Cloud Management Project | This project allows learners to apply the knowledge and skills gained from PDC in Cloud Management to manage cloud resources, incorporating elements of migration, automation, provisioning & deployment. |
Entry requirements
Applicants should possess a relevant (Information Technology or Computer Science) local polytechnic Diploma, ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Study Technical Diploma or Degree.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least five years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or an entrance test. The polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
Conditional Offer
Graduating students (in their final semester) from a local polytechnic or Institute of Technical Education (ITE) may apply for the programme.

Applicants who have the following qualification/ certification may apply for exemption from the corresponding module(s) as stated below:

The prior qualification/ certification must have been obtained no more than 4 years before the course commencement.
Applicants who wish to apply for Module Exemption and/or Module Credit & Grade Transfer are to do so after being accepted into the course, but before the course commencement. You can do so at the STEP student portal under the “Request & Task” menu. All Module Exemption/ Module Credit & Grade Transfer applications are subject to RP’s review and approval.
Applicants with qualifications/certification other than those stated above, but who have relevant prior learning, may also submit Module Exemption/ Module Credit & Grade Transfer applications for RP’s review and approval.
