Joshua Yeo believes students learn best when they can apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. The School of Management and Communication educator was recognised as a finalist for the President’s Award for Teachers for his commitment to preparing students for successful careers through industry-connected learning.
For Joshua Yeo, education goes beyond the classroom. As Programme Chair of the Diploma in Consumer Behaviour & Research, he is passionate about equipping students with the skills, experiences, and confidence they need to thrive in the workforce.
A strong advocate for experiential learning, Joshua actively seeks out industry collaborations and internship opportunities that allow students to gain valuable real-world exposure before graduation. By working closely with industry partners, he helps students better understand how their learning can be applied in professional settings.

Joshua also believes curriculum should remain closely connected to industry needs. To achieve this, he regularly incorporates real-world challenges into classroom projects, giving students opportunities to tackle authentic business and social issues.
One such project involved a collaboration with the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise. Through the project, students explored public perceptions of the social enterprise sector and applied research skills to address a meaningful industry challenge.
Beyond curriculum development, Joshua is deeply committed to supporting students in their personal and professional growth. He frequently dedicates additional time to coaching and mentoring students, helping them navigate their educational journey and future career aspirations.
His passion for education extends beyond RP. Joshua also engages with secondary school students, sharing insights and encouraging the next generation to explore entrepreneurship and create positive impact in their communities.
Joshua’s recognition as a finalist for the President’s Award for Teachers reflects his dedication to creating industry-relevant learning experiences and empowering students to achieve their full potential.
Congratulations to Joshua on this achievement and for continuing to inspire students through meaningful, real-world learning.
