RP SAS students honoured at HSBC–NYAA Youth Environmental Award

Sam Pei Yi and Iyonna Tan Ying En from the Diploma in Environmental & Marine Science (DEMS) received merit prizes for their outstanding contributions to environmental protection and nature conservation.
Two DEMS students were recognised at the HSBC–NYAA Youth Environmental Award 2026 for their commitment to environmental sustainability.
Sam Pei Yi, a Year 3 student and former President of the Conservation Interest Group, was awarded a Merit Prize in the Senior (IHL) Category for her outstanding contributions and commitment to environmental protection and nature conservation.
Iyonna Tan Ying En, a Year 1 student, was awarded a Merit Prize in the Junior Category, having been nominated by her former secondary school teachers from CHIJ St Joseph's Convent. She has demonstrated strong environmental advocacy through community outreach and co-curricular activity (CCA) involvement, and has continued her active participation at RP, including taking part in a Student Overseas Trip to Bintan.
The awards ceremony was held on 17 January 2026, with Ms Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, as Guest-of-Honour, who presented the prizes to the award recipients.
The HSBC–NYAA Youth Environmental Award recognises young people aged 14 to 25 for their achievements, leadership and commitment to environmental sustainability.
