A team of Year 3 students from the Diploma in Environmental and Marine Science (DEMS) clinched the top prize in the Senior Category of the inaugural Ocean Adaptation Challenge, hosted by the Singapore Oceanarium in July 2025.
The Ocean Adaptation Challenge is a week-long national-level workshop and competition that challenges participants to draw inspiration from marine adaptations and ecosystems. Participants work in teams to design innovative, sustainability-focused solutions using biomimicry and design thinking to address real-world environmental issues.
The team's achievement was featured in CNA's documentary, Oceans of Change, which was aired in February 2026.
The DEMS team comprised Lim Zhen Yu, Sim Ming Yee, Teng Sheng Jun Hanon, and Yeo Zhixiang, with Dr Grace Loo serving as staff advisor.
