About 40 students from RP School of Sports and Health (SSH) collaborated across three programmes to plan and facilitate the third consecutive Sunlove Sports Day, combining expertise in caregiving, sports and health promotion.

RP partnered with Sunlove for their third consecutive Sports Day, welcoming around 400 seniors from nine Active Ageing Centres and one Nursing Home for a day filled with joy, movement and community connection.
About 40 SSH students from the Diploma in Integrated Community Care (DICC), Diploma in Sport & Exercise Science (DSES), and Common Sports & Health Programme (CSHP) came together in a meaningful cross-diploma collaboration to plan, facilitate and execute the event. This approach combined their expertise in caregiving, sports and health promotion to create holistic activities addressing both the physical and social needs of seniors.
The day featured fun and interactive games thoughtfully designed by students, a lively talent show competition between the Active Ageing Centres showcasing seniors' creativity, and a special performance by the residents of Sunlove Nursing Home, demonstrating their vibrancy and resilience.
"It was a meaningful experience, interacting and ensuring the elderly have fun and keep active," reflects Diploma in Integrated Community Care student Kyzer Lim. "Helping others is one of my values, so participating in service-learning projects like this is useful in building my social skills with seniors as I engage with more of them in the future."
The initiative embodies RP's commitment to bridging classroom learning with community service, empowering students to apply their skills meaningfully while enriching the lives of seniors and creating lasting social impact.
