Jonique Tan balances her independent music career as Aijou with leading sound design projects at Zynth Studios, where she mentors aspiring audio professionals and contributes to major exhibitions like Singapore Odyssey.

Jonique Tan, School of Technology for Arts, Media and Design (STA) alumna, is carving out a unique path in Singapore's music and sound design scene, performing as independent singer-songwriter Aijou while working as a sound professional.
The Diploma in Sonic Arts graduate blends English and Japanese lyrics into catchy J-pop-inspired melodies. She recently released her third single in collaboration with music producer VITICZ, describing their latest EP as "an electronic experimental mini album performed in English and Japanese."
Beyond her music career, Jonique works at Zynth Studios, the sound arm of animation and motion graphics studio CraveFX. There, she leads the internship programme, mentoring aspiring audio post-production talents and helping them grow as sound designers, composers, and mixing engineers.
When asked about her proudest project, Jonique shared her experience contributing to the Singapore Odyssey exhibition at the Glass Rotunda of the National Museum of Singapore. She worked on the composition and sound design for two episodes within the ramp, created the interactive rune and waterfall soundscapes, and guided her interns throughout the process.
"RP provided me with opportunities to hone my passion for singing and performing," says the former Rhapsody member. "I am also grateful to my lecturers for believing in my potential and connecting me with opportunities that led to some of these music projects I was a part of!"
