Team Oliver emerged as the only Institute of Higher Learning team to secure a top-three spot at the DrugFreeSG Video Competition, telling a powerful story of addiction and redemption.

A team of six Year 2 students from the School of Technology for Arts, Media and Design (STA) has achieved a remarkable feat at the DrugFreeSG Video Competition organised by the Central Narcotics Bureau, becoming the only Institute of Higher Learning team in Singapore to secure a top-three finish.
Team Oliver, comprising Fitri Armaya, Muhammad Akid, Nadya Nabilah, Nur Sufaa, Nurul Syifa Umairah, and Hung Joe Kit, created a compelling narrative about a teenager who loses himself to drug addiction but finds his way back through the support of his grandmother and an old photo album, inspiring him to change and surround himself with the right people.
"We applied our knowledge of different shot sizes, lighting setups, and adjustments to create visuals that supported the emotional tone of the story," shares Fitri, who served as director and editor.
The team learned about the competition through their lecturer, Mr Rizal Mattar, who incorporated it as part of a final graded assignment.
"Opportunities like this give me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and try something new," says Umairah. "I learnt how to handle new challenges on shoots, work with different people, and trust my abilities more."
Sufaa adds, "RP has helped me come out of my comfort zone and given me opportunities to go on creative journeys I would never have imagined I would one day be able to experience."
