Q1. Why should I attend the Orientation Programme?
The Orientation Programme is a Republic Polytechnic (RP)-wide orientation event. You will get to find out more about RP, the various student groups, as well as the facilities and services available to you. It will help you maximise your experience in RP.
Q2. If I'm unwell, can I still attend the Orientation Programme?
If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend the programme and consult a doctor.
Q3. Is it compulsory to attend the Orientation Programme?
The attendance for the Orientation Programme is compulsory and will be beneficial to all Year One students. Students will be introduced to RP, our guidelines, online learning systems, and so much more.
You can expect to meet your lecturers and mentors, and attend several important briefings which will help you to settle down and adjust quickly and comfortably to life in RP.
Q4. What should I do if I cannot attend the Republic Polytechnic Orientation Programme?
Please contact your School representatives as soon as possible. Let your School representatives know here.

Q5. Must I register for the Orientation Programme?
You do not need to register for OP as it is a compulsory programme for all matriculated students.
Q6. Do I need to bring my laptop during the Orientation Programme?
Nope, you won’t need a laptop — we will be moving around campus a lot. Just come light and get ready to have fun!
Q7. Where do I report for the Orientation Programme?
You will be notified by email or SMS on the respective reporting venue. On the day of the orientation programme, you will proceed to your respective reporting venue. There will be student ushers on-site should you need any assistance. Please bring your Identification Card for registration.
Understanding Your Classroom Code
Your classroom code tells you exactly where to go. It follows this format:
Block – Level – Room
Example
Assigned classroom: E25J
E2 = Block
5 = Level
J = Room
So you’ll report to Block E2, Level 5, Room J.
Q8. What time do I report?
Please be on the RP campus by 8:30 am.
Q9. What should I wear?
Comfortable wear for indoor and outdoor activities and covered shoes. Avoid sleeveless shirts, singlets, slippers and clothing that contain offensive language or imagery. You are encouraged to cover any tattoos or body piercings. You may bring along a jacket as well.
Q10. Are we staying overnight for the Orientation Programme?

Q11. What kind of rules are there on campus?
RP Student Code of Conduct
The Republic Polytechnic (RP) Student Code of Conduct aims to guide all students and promote our ExCITE Values.
All students are to comply with the following (on and off campus, and on Student Overseas Travel):
All Standing Regulations in the RP Student Code of Conduct.
The Legislation in Singapore.
All Academic Regulations found in the Student Handbook.
Any other rules, regulations and instructions that are issued from time to time.
All students are to assume self-responsibility for knowing and upholding the RP Student Code of Conduct, and are expected to conduct himself/herself in ways that promote a safe and respectful community within the Institution and in the greater community outside the Institution.
Disrespectful behaviour or insubordination to lecturers or any other officers of the Polytechnic (including security officers) will NOT be tolerated.
All students should carry their RP Student ID at all times and produce it when requested for identification by any RP staff.
Respecting Others and Upholding Good Conduct
All students should be considerate of others and respect the diversity of cultures, races and religions.
Students should refrain from any conduct that demeans, intimidates, threatens, harasses or injures any individual, such as bullying, fighting, making derogatory remarks, sexual misconduct (e.g. sexual assault, outrage of modesty, illicit recording, voyeuristic act, distribution of voyeuristic recording, stalking).
Violation of the RP Student Code of Conduct
As a caring educational community, RP does not tolerate misconduct, be it physical or psychological harm, harassment or violence directed against any person. Students engaging in such misconduct are subject to disciplinary actions, and the punitive actions to be imposed may include dismissal, suspension and/or other penalties.
Incident Reporting
Students should inform their Programme Chair (PC), Mentor, Lecturer or RP Discipline Masters if they see or encounter any such misconduct. Students can also report such misconduct to the Fire Command Centre (FCC) located at RPC, or contact Campus Security at 6697 1515 or the Office of Student and Graduate Affairs at https://for.edu.sg/rpcontactus.
RP's counsellors are also available to provide support if you need help, and they can be reached at RP https://for.edu.sg/rpcontactus.
Q12. Will food be catered?
Yes, bento meals will be provided for all participants, with vegetarian options available.
Q13. How do I get to RP?
By Bus:

Q14. When can I sign up for a CCA?
You can sign up during CCA Fiesta (21–23 April 2026) via the SNApp student app. Browse the available CCAs and register directly through the app during the event.
Q15. What is SNApp and why do I need it?
SNApp is the official platform for students to manage key aspects of campus life - from academic matters to CCAs, events, and important announcements - all in one place.
You’ll need SNApp to stay updated. To learn how to use the app and explore its features, visit the SNApp Info Portal (login is required).
If you’re unable to access SNApp, it may be due to access permissions or network settings. Please ensure that you are logged in using your school account and the recommended browser.
If the issue persists, please approach IT Helpdesk at Library West or contact Help-IT and include a screenshot of the error message so we can assist you as soon as possible.
