  1. This Republic Polytechnic (“RP”) website is a government agency website. As such, we adopt the same principles relating to your privacy as other Government of Singapore websites.

  2. We use "cookies", where a small data file is sent to your browser to store and track information about you when you enter our websites. The cookie is used to track information such as the number of users and their frequency of use, profiles of users and their preferred sites. While this cookie can tell us when you enter our sites and which pages you visit, it cannot read data off your hard disk.

    2. We will NOT share your personal data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific Government services.

    3. For your convenience, we may also display to you data you had previously supplied us or other Government Agencies. This will speed up the transaction and save you the trouble of repeating previous submissions. Should the data be out-of-date, please supply us the latest data.

  5. To safeguard your personal data, all electronic storage and transmission of personal data is secured with appropriate security technologies.

  6. This site may contain links to non-Government sites whose data protection and privacy practices may differ from ours. We are not responsible for the content and privacy practices of these other websites and encourage you to consult the privacy notices of those sites.

    1. have any enquires or feedback on our data protection policies and procedures,

    2. need more information on or access to data which you have provided to us in the past.

  8. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Statement informs you of how RP manages personal data in accordance with the Government's Data Management Policies. By interacting with us, submitting information to us or signing up for any course or services offered by us, you agree and consent to Republic Polytechnic, its related corporations and affiliates, (collectively referred to herein as "RP", "us", "we" or "our"), as well as our respective representatives collecting, using, disclosing and sharing amongst themselves your Personal Data, and disclosing such Personal Data to RP's authorised service providers and relevant third parties in the manner stated in this Privacy Statement.


  9. Your Personal Data refers to any information from which you, as an individual, may be uniquely identified. For example, NRIC number.

  10. RP may collect your personal data in the following ways:

    1. when you register or submit forms for or use any of RP’s services such as courses, scholarships, financial assistance, events or surveys;

    2. when you interact with RP staff

    3. when you provide feedback and request that we contact you

  11. Purposes for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data. RP will take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorised disclosure. Generally, RP collects, uses and discloses your personal data for the following purposes:

    1. administering, processing or responding to your requests or queries;

    2. managing your relationship and your next-of-kin's relationship with us;

    3. verifying your identity or matching any personal data which relates to you;

    4. inviting you to participate in research, during or after your course of study;

    5. collecting research data for the enhancement and development of student learning and student programs;

    6. publishing in RP’s publications and marketing-related materials;

    7. enrolling you as an alumni of the polytechnic upon graduation;

    8. evaluating your performance, facilitating your course of study and further studies;

    9. complying with applicable rules, code of conduct, regulations or guidelines of RP;

    10. complying with government policy-making or data collection by public agencies;

    11. complying with laws or to assist law enforcement and investigations by relevant authorities;

    12. RP administration or campus security purposes; and or

    13. any other purposes that may be deemed beneficial to your course of study
