Every beat begins with a challenge — to learn, persevere, stand apart and stand together. World Drum Night 2026: The Challengers brings nine ensembles together in a dynamic journey of rivalry, resilience and transformation. Traditional rhythms meet contemporary expression as diverse musical voices collide, respond and evolve.

Inspired by sporting face-offs and martial arts, the performance unfolds through rhythmic battles, musical exchanges and collaborative encounters. As cultures meet, individual identities remain distinct while new connections emerge.

Those Who Can’t, Teach

Inspired by familiar stories yet deeply rooted in contemporary Singapore, this intercultural theatrical production presents a multilingual adaptation of Haresh Sharma’s acclaimed play, Those Who Can’t, Teach. The show turns a witty, local spotlight on the madcap lives of teachers and students in a secondary school, capturing daily pressures, griping, and the urge to "chillax." Blending diverse performance styles, multilingual dialogue, and humour, this updated script uses local perspectives to explore identity, conflict, and cultural exchange, highlighting how theatre powerfully bridges differences.

MUSE XV: Between Artists

MUSE XV: Between Artists is a dance concert that celebrates the richness of intercultural exchange through movement, music, and shared artistic expression. Bringing together dancers and choreographers from diverse cultural backgrounds at RP, this concert — inspired by the lives and legacy of our dance champions, Som Said, Yan Choong Lian and Santha Bhaskar — explores how traditions can meet, transform and inspire one another in contemporary spaces.

Through a dynamic blend of movement vocabularies, rhythms and storytelling practices, the concert highlights both the uniqueness of individual cultures and the universal human experiences that connect us. Each piece becomes a conversation — between histories and modernity, between communities, and between artists themselves.

An Evening of Music, Fun & Friends: Everyday Life
featuring RP Replug, Jammerz Arena, Rhapsody, GEnRe, Electronic Music Production

An intimate, collaborative exploration of sound, Everyday Life brings together rock, acoustic and a cappella music, guitar and digital sound in a live conversation between musicians, voices and technology.

Inspired by the sonic openness and spirit of Coldplay’s iconic album, the concert reimagines songs from different artists through the unique perspectives of our students. Their interpretations explore how young musicians listen, respond and make meaning from the music around them.

Rather than simply presenting songs, the concert unfolds as a musical dialogue, where genres and musical languages meet, overlap, and transform. Acoustic textures meet electronic soundscapes, voices become instruments, and familiar melodies take unexpected forms.

At its heart, Everyday Life is a shared musical journey: music in conversation, music in transformation, and music created through collaboration.

Inspired by the Festival theme: The Anatomy of ROJAK, 《遇 · 间》| Within is more than a concert. It celebrates the friendships, creative discoveries, and shared experiences that have shaped the Republic Polytechnic Chinese Ensemble over the past decade.

Through an engaging blend of traditional repertoire, contemporary reimagining, cross-cultural collaborations, revived signature works and new compositions, the concert invites audiences on a deeply personal journey through the ensemble's evolving artistic identity. Beyond the music, personal stories offer glimpses of friendship, challenges, and growth, revealing the trust and strong sense of community forged over the years. Together, the concert celebrates a decade of creating, connecting, and growing as one.

This exhibition explores the differences between digital and face-to-face interactions, where conversations become messages, memories are stored online, and people can feel both close and distant at the same time.

Through different art forms and creative experimentation, the artworks reflect the comfort, vulnerability, loneliness, and (dis)connection that come with life in the digital age. The exhibition invites audiences to reflect on how we form, maintain, and experience relationships today, and how technology continues to shape the way we connect with one another.
