In the world of environmental sustainability, complex challenges require innovative solutions. RP is stepping up by gaining new skills and knowledge through research and development (R&D). By collaborating with industry partners, we aim to make a real impact on global sustainability challenges. We are actively engaging external partners like government agencies, businesses, and research institutions to build a strong network dedicated to sustainability development.
RP has achieved significant milestones in environmental sustainability through technology centres. One of our industry projects includes seeking an innovative and cost-effective solution to upcycle incineration ash from municipal solid waste into environmentally safe and value-added composites.
In 2022, we launched The Greenhouse, an advanced agricultural facility with cutting-edge solutions for sustainable energy and water. It's not just a farm; it's a powerhouse that enhances farm productivity, contributing to Singapore's food resilience and sustainability goals. The Greenhouse is equipped with smart technologies that generate energy while acting as the facility's roof to maximise sunlight.
Recognising the growing demand for environmental stewardship, the RP Centre of Innovation for Supply Chain Management (COI-SCM) launched the Go Carbon Management Programme (goCMP) in collaboration with the Singapore Logistics Association. Through this 5-day programme comprising staff training and project consultancy, we help businesses reduce carbon emissions and embark on their sustainability journey. It's our way of enabling companies to adapt to the rapidly changing demands of the industry.
