RP partnered with the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturer’s Advisory Council to launch TAP, the first programme of its kind across local polytechnics. This initiative with 16 leading companies provides students with industry-aligned training and internships, building a strong pipeline of biopharma-ready professionals for Singapore.

RP School of Hospitality unveiled game-changing Talent Advancement Programme

This pioneering initiative, launched at RP’s Open House 2024, is a collaboration with 16 prominent industry partners across various sectors including events management, financial services and hospitality. It provides RP School of Hospitality (SOH) students with mentorship, structured internships, leadership training, and career guidance, enhancing their job prospects with potential for higher starting positions and remuneration.

Launch of two new PET programmes for 2023

Two new PET programmes — Common Arts, Design and Media Programme and the Diploma in Tourism Management with Technology (DTMT) — were introduced in 2023. The Common Arts, Design and Media Programme offers students a holistic introduction to the creative industries before narrowing their choice of specialisation. Through DTMT, students will gain well-rounded perspectives of the tourism sector and acquire competencies including entrepreneurial and data analytical skills.

Official Opening of STAR Lab

The RP-Shimadzu Sustainable Technology and Analytical Laboratory (STAR Lab) was officially opened on 6 January 2023. Equipped with Laboratory 4.0 features, the lab serves as a learning platform for staff and students in analytical instrumentation, automation, data management, and more.

Inaugural Agritech and Aquaculture Career Fair 2023

RP hosted our inaugural Agritech and Aquaculture Career Fair on 6 June 2023 which was graced by Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Alvin Tan. The event saw more than 20 companies and Institutes of Higher Learning participating, offering students the opportunity to engage industry experts and explore career opportunities.

RP jointly launches Singapore’s first Work-Study Certificate in Software Engineering with Singapore Polytechnic

RP School of Infocomm (SOI) has jointly pioneered the first-ever launch of a Work-Study Certificate with Singapore Polytechnic, that will lead to a Part-Time Diploma in Software Engineering. The programme is designed to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills and knowledge to undertake the primary role of a software engineer with associated skills in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) and Development & Operations (DevOps).

RP School of Applied Science Senior Lecturer, Ms Malini conferred the President’s Award for Teachers 2023

Ms Malini Thyagesan, Senior Lecturer at RP School of Applied Science, has been conferred the President’s Award for Teachers 2023. The highest accolade in the teaching profession – the award recognises excellent and experienced educators for their dedication and hard work in developing the young generation.
