Building and Controlling Flying Machines
Discover how flight works — and take control of your own aircraft.
What makes an aeroplane stay in the sky? How do pilots control their aircraft with such precision? If you’re curious about flight and have an interest in aviation, this beginner-friendly 3-day Applied Learning Module (ApLM) is the perfect opportunity to turn that curiosity into hands-on experience.
You’ll dive into the principles of aerodynamics and aircraft systems, build your own glider and drone, and test-fly them while applying the theory of flight. You’ll also experience piloting a Boeing 747 in our flight simulator and get up close with real aircraft systems in RP’s very own hangar — the ARCH.
What you’ll learn:
Explore the science behind how aircraft fly and how they are manoeuvred.
Build and test-fly your own glider and drone using flight theory.
Experience flying through a flight simulator and examine real aircraft systems in the RP Hangar.
This module is ideal for students with a passion for flight, physics, or a future in the aviation industry.
