The Science of Clean Water
Protect our waters. Understand the science behind clean and sustainable environments.
Clean water is essential for life — yet our waterways face growing threats from pollution caused by domestic, agricultural, and industrial activities. In this beginner-friendly 3-day Applied Learning Module (ApLM), you’ll explore how water quality is affected and what can be done to monitor, protect, and restore it.
You’ll step into the shoes of a water quality analyst or treatment engineer, and gain hands-on experience in understanding pollution sources, monitoring water health, and exploring treatment solutions.
What you’ll learn:
Understand the causes and impacts of water pollution, including eutrophication and algal blooms.
Learn how scientists monitor and assess water quality in real-world environments.
Explore how wastewater is treated before safe discharge to protect ecosystems.
This module is ideal for students interested in sustainability, science, or the environment — and offers a great introduction to RP Diploma in Environmental and Marine Science.
