Sky Explorer Programme
The sky is not the limit—it’s just the beginning. From April 2024, all full-time SEG students will be able to obtain the CAAS-approved UA Basic Training certificate, empowering them to fly drones with confidence.

From Hobby to Career: Danish’s Skyward Journey
Danish Isfahan Kamis discovered his passion for drones through a building safety module in RP’s Diploma in Sustainable Built Environment.
His mentor connected him to an internship at Quantified Energy Labs (QE LABS), where he gained hands-on experience and earned his Class A Unmanned Aircraft Pilot License (UAPL).
Now a full-time drone pilot, he conducts photovoltaic panel inspections across South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam, contributing to drone research and maintenance.
Keeping Flights Safe, Guiding Future Controllers
Gan Zhi Xuan’s fascination with airport operations began as a child, leading her to pursue RP’s Diploma in Aviation Management.
A hands-on experience in RP’s Virtual Aerodrome Lab sealed her ambition to become an Air Traffic Controller. With a solid foundation in airport operations and aircraft systems, she confidently navigated her training with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.
Now, she not only ensures safe skies but also mentors the next generation of controllers, shaping the future of aviation.
Engineering Knowledge, Empowering Communities
For RP Senior Lecturer Vincent Lim, education goes beyond textbooks—it’s about empowering students to make a real difference.
Returning to Singapore after a decade abroad, he integrates industry expertise into his teaching, covering topics from Green Manufacturing to Robotic Process Automation (RPA). His commitment to community building led to an RPA hackathon with Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital, where students created solutions to enhance patient care.
As a finalist for the President’s Award for Teachers 2024, Vincent continues to inspire future engineers with purpose and passion.
Learning facilities
The Aerospace Hub (ARCH)
The ARCH is a state-of-the-art training facility designed to simulate real-world aviation environments. Covering 1,500 square metres, it houses industry-standard equipment, including a Learjet 35, a Jabiru 160, a Boeing 747-400 Simulator, and an Air Traffic Control simulator.
From aircraft maintenance to flight operations, students gain hands-on experience in a facility that mirrors an actual industry hangar, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for careers in the aviation sector.
Virtual Aerodrome Laboratory (VAL)
Step into the VAL, the first-of-its-kind simulator at a tertiary institution in Singapore, developed by ST Electronics.
With a 120-degree screen, you’ll take on roles like air traffic controller, pilot, or ground crew, managing real-world airport operations and emergency scenarios. Train under different weather conditions, practice critical decision-making, and gain hands-on experience in a safe, controlled setting.
From air traffic management to crisis response, VAL prepares you with the skills and confidence to thrive in the aviation industry.
Supply Chain Innovation Laboratory
Discover how technology is transforming supply chains at the Supply Chain Innovation Laboratory. This interactive space lets you explore innovations like AR-assisted picking, robotics sorting, and intelligent storage solutions.
