The Centre for Operational Excellence (COE), based in the School of Engineering, supports companies in their digital transformation efforts by integrating Industry 4.0 technologies, business workflow optimisation, and reliability engineering.
The centre works closely with the Centre of Innovation for Supply Chain Management (COI-SCM) at Republic Polytechnic to deliver supply chain management solutions and lean process improvements for companies.

Supply Chain Innovation Lab (SCIL)

Train in a fully functional warehouse environment with robotic sorting, vertical storage, imaging picking, barcode scanning, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). Gain insights into lean warehousing through simulation and process optimisation.
RP-ST Logistics Healthcare Supply Chain Lab

Develop scalable, asset-light solutions using smart inventory systems enhanced with sensors, computer vision, and real-time monitoring for effective healthcare logistics.
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Lab

Conduct precise geometrical measurements using touch probes and 3D scanning. This lab also supports real-time statistical process control and in-process CNC measurements.
Business Process Modelling & Optimisation Lab

Explore and apply solutions such as workflow automation, cloud-based systems, IoT technologies, and simulation and optimisation tools. The lab also offers expertise in Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and sustainability-driven process design to support process improvement initiatives.
ErgoSCAPE – Ergonomics for Safety, Comfort and Productivity Experience Lab

Simulate real work environments with light, sound, and environmental sensors to support ergonomics studies and job redesign initiatives for safer, more comfortable workplaces.

Developed a real-time inventory monitoring solution for unmanned hospital stores. The system improved replenishment productivity, enabled predictive supply forecasting with machine learning, and helped prevent disruptions in nursing care.
IoT-Enabled Pick-To-Light System
