RP has signed a three-year partnership with Therme Singapore, creating exciting opportunities for students to gain industry experience in one of Asia's newest and fastest-growing sectors — wellness tourism.

Mr Boon Khai Tan, CEO of Therme Group Services (Singapore), and Ms Jeanne Liew, Principal and CEO of RP, signed the MoU at the Therme Group Services Groundbreaking Ceremony at Gardens by the Bay, graced by the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu.

A New Chapter for Wellness in Singapore

Therme Group is an international developer and operator of large-scale urban wellbeing destinations. The company was awarded a Singapore Tourism Board tender to develop Asia's first large-scale urban wellness destination at Marina South, next to Gardens by the Bay.

Expected to open around 2030, the landmark development will introduce a new wellness concept to Singapore and the region, bringing together hospitality, wellbeing, recreation, sustainability, and technology in a single destination.

Creating Opportunities for Future-Ready Talent

Led by RP's School of Hospitality, the partnership aims to prepare students for emerging careers in wellness, hospitality, tourism, and customer experience.

Through the collaboration, students will have opportunities to participate in internships, final-year projects, and applied industry collaborations that provide valuable real-world experience.

The partnership will also explore Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes and industry projects that focus on enhancing operational efficiency, customer experience, and service excellence through technology and innovation.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

As the wellness sector continues to grow globally, students will gain exposure to multidisciplinary projects spanning:

  • Hospitality and tourism

  • Wellness operations

  • Food and beverage

  • Engineering and technology

  • Sports and exercise science

  • Customer experience and service innovation

These experiences will help students develop industry-relevant skills while gaining insights into a rapidly evolving sector that is new to Singapore and Asia.

Building the Future of Wellness Together

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr Boon Khai Tan, CEO of Therme Group Services (Singapore), and Ms Jeanne Liew, Principal and CEO of RP, during the Therme Group Services Groundbreaking Ceremony at Gardens by the Bay.

The ceremony was graced by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, and marked the beginning of a partnership that will help shape the next generation of wellness and hospitality professionals.
