Republic Polytechnic (RP) and Nvidia Corporation recently concluded the third intake for the Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Training Programme (AIITP).
This 8-month-long joint programme provides participants with industry-standard artificial intelligence (AI) training, with a focus on deep learning. As part of the programme, industry veterans from RP, Nvidia and their industry partners shared their expertise through lectures, hands-on workshops, and project mentorship. Participants who completed the programme will also receive Nvidia Deep Learning Institute (DLI) certification.
"This joint initiative between RP and Nvidia is timely as businesses are increasingly looking to adopt AI technologies to better their competitiveness. Through this partnership, we have trained and enabled over 40 Singaporean professionals to upskill themselves with industry-leading and relevant skill sets in AI, so that they can seize opportunities in this growing field”, said Ms Wong Wai Ling, Director of the School of Infocomm at RP.

AI talents are in high demand as more businesses turn to these technologies to gain a competitive edge," said Regional Manager for NVIDIA's Artificial Intelligence Technology Centre, Dr Ng Aik Beng. "With our deep learning expertise and RP's world-class infrastructure, this programme perfectly meets that demand head-on. We are excited to see our graduates take up positions in some of Singapore’s leading companies."

As part of RP’s effort to provide upskilling opportunities in the digital economy, a Specialist Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence is also offered. Designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of the latest technologies used by leading enterprises, the programme equips participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to become AI specialists, covering areas such as natural language processing and computer vision. Graduates from the Specialist Diploma can also look forward to taking up positions in AI solutioning, development and machine learning. The Specialist Diploma is also available as a Work-Study programme.
