DSES Alumnus Wins Incubation Award for Escargot Urban Farming Start-up
Eric Li, Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science Alumnus and Valedictorian, is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of The Shell Company. Eric's start up champions the sustainable urban farming of escargots. In 2021, Eric and his team clinched the Tendlines RP Agri-Food Incubation Programme Award worth $15,000.
Eric shared, "Winning this award was a pleasant surprise. We hope to establish ourselves not just as a leader in urban escargot farming, but also a platform for educating the masses on the environmental and nutritional benefits of eating locally farmed escargots".
This award will help The Shell Company undergo a 6-month incubation programme with venture capitalist, Trendines Agrifood Innovation Centre, to grow their business and dare we say - to come out of their shell.
