Mentoring

All Republic Polytechnic (RP) students will have a staff mentor. A student’s mentor is usually an RP academic staff member who is one of the facilitators for the class or group that student belongs to.

Mentors will provide students or mentees with ongoing encouragement and guidance, which helps develop their character, resilience, discerning judgement, skills and mindsets to thrive and adapt to RP Problem-based Learning approach.

A mentor also helps with issues that affect mentees’ learning, performance and academic progress in RP. The mentor will be the focal point for other facilitators to provide feedback about mentees and work closely with colleagues across the departments to help students any issues in areas such as:
