At RP, one modular credit (MC) is equivalent to 15 curriculum hours. Therefore, a 4-MC module would amount to 60 curriculum hours delivered over a 13-week semester. Similarly, modules with 1 or 2 MCs would involve 15 and 30 curriculum hours respectively, spread across the semester. You may refer to our Academic Calendar.
Module Grade
Each Module Grade (MG) comprises 3 components, namely Continuous Assessment (CA), Final Assessment (FA), and Self-Directed and Collaborative Learning (SDCL). All CA, FA and SDCL grades will be accounted for in the module grade computation.
*This is applicable to majority of the modules on Letter Grades Scheme. For modules on Pass/Fail Grades Scheme, CA and SDCL grades will be accounted in the computation of the module grade. Assessment of SDCL may be excluded for 1 modular credit modules on Pass/Fail Grades Scheme.
Attendance
Attendance at all scheduled classes and assessments are compulsory. Students who are unable to attend class(es) or Assessment(s) because of illness covered by a Medical Certificate (MC) or other reasons as acceptable by RP may apply for a Leave of Absence (LOA) within a stipulated period.
Students are expected to be punctual for all lessons and assessments and should make allowances for heavy traffic and other causes of delay and to ensure they arrive for their lessons and assessments on time. For Assessments, students who arrive at the assessment venue 15 minutes or more after the assessment start time will be prohibited from taking the assessment.
For further details on academic matters, students are strongly advised to read the information available in the Student Handbook.
