Parental Consent for Applicants Below 21
If you are under 21, parent/guardian consent is required. RP can reject your application if consent is not received within one week of your submission. Your parent/guardian can provide consent directly on the Parent’s Portal. Please refer to the Parent’s Portal user guide for a step-by-step guide.
To ensure you are making an informed decision, it’s recommended to consult your Programme Chair.
Fees for Deferment/Withdrawal
Deferment or withdrawal may incur fees depending on when you submit your request. Refer to the table below for the applicable fees based on the week of the Academic Calendar:
Overview of applicable fees for deferment and withdrawal by submission period
Application Period to Withdraw/Defer | Deferment/Withdrawal Fees |
|---|---|
More than 2 weeks before the start of the Semester | No fees for all students |
Within 2 weeks before the start of the Semester | 5% of tuition fees + annual supplementary fees for existing students |
Week 1 of the Semester | 25% of tuition fees + annual supplementary fees |
Week 2 or later | 100% of tuition fees + annual supplementary fees |
Application Timeline
Deferment or withdrawal applications submitted after the first school day of Week 13 will not be processed, and your module grades will be reviewed by the Board of Examiners (BOE). All RP policies, including dismissal, will still apply as you remain an enrolled student.
You will be notified of the outcome within four weeks of submission, provided all supporting documents are submitted and any outstanding dues are cleared.
National Service Eligibility
You cannot defer mid-studies to enlist for National Service (NS). NS-eligible students must obtain approval for deferment from NS based on age and other criteria. The Letter of Certification (LOC) can be obtained via SNApp to support your deferment application.
Deferment Period
During your deferment, you must comply with RP’s Code of Conduct. To resume studies after deferment, submit the confirmation form. Failure to notify RP within the deferment period will result in deregistration.
International Students
International students must surrender their Student's Pass to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) within seven days upon receiving the deferment/withdrawal confirmation.
Students who have been issued a Digital Student Pass should login to ICA-SOLAR and select the option “Cancellation of Student’s Pass” within 7 days upon receiving the course withdrawal or deferment confirmation email from RP.
Failure to comply may lead to serious consequences.
