With your laptop and smart devices, you will be equipped to explore modules, check your schedule, and engage with online learning content—anytime, anywhere.
Purchase the right laptop
Your learning at RP is powered by technology, and your laptop plays a key role in how you learn, collaborate, and create. Getting the right laptop and configuring it correctly sets you up for a smoother and more confident start to your RP journey.
As demand typically increases closer to the start of the school term, popular laptop models may sell out quickly. To avoid disappointment, we recommend purchasing your laptop early after confirming your course’s system requirements during matriculation.
Priority for notebook purchases will be given to 2026 Freshmen (Full-time & Poly Foundation Programme). Year 2 & 3 students, as well as staff, may begin purchasing notebooks from May 2026 onwards. If you require a notebook urgently for your studies (e.g. a faulty notebook), please contact the notebook suppliers directly via email first. Your request will be subject to review and stock availability.
You have the flexibility to purchase a laptop from RP’s online catalogues or any commercial retailer, as long as it meets the necessary specifications for your studies.

Purchase from other commercial retailers
If you prefer to purchase a laptop from a retailer of your choice, it is important to ensure that the laptop meets the general system requirements to support your learning at RP.
The laptop should be capable of handling the software and tools used in your course, ensuring smooth access to online resources, modules and collaborative tools. Please note that some diplomas have more specific requirements due to the nature of their programmes, such as specialised software for design, engineering, or multimedia courses.

Configure your laptop
Once you have received the confirmation email from Help-IT@rp.edu.sg with the subject line "Preparation of Laptop for use in RP", you are ready to begin configuring your laptop for use in your studies.
