The RP Student Code of Conduct aims to guide all students and promote the RP's ExCITE values by forming the foundation of how students are expected to learn, live and contribute to the RP community.

Excellence

Students are encouraged to approach their studies with commitment and discipline, always striving for high standards in both academic and personal development. Academic honesty is central to this pursuit, and students are expected to avoid misconduct such as plagiarism, cheating, or falsifying documents. Excellence also extends to how students use RP facilities and resources, ensuring they are cared for and respected as shared spaces.

Care

Students are expected to treat others with kindness, empathy, and respect. This includes refraining from any behaviour that could cause harm, such as bullying, harassment, or intimidation. Care also extends to practising safe conduct in workshops, laboratories, and communal areas, as well as showing respect for the physical environment of the campus.

Integrity

Students should be truthful in their academic work, attendance, and personal interactions. They are also expected to respect RP’s systems, resources, and reputation, while upholding the laws and regulations of Singapore. Integrity builds trust and ensures that every student contributes positively to the Polytechnic.

Teamwork

As part of a vibrant and diverse community, students are encouraged to collaborate effectively, support one another, and value different perspectives. Teamwork involves working respectfully with peers and staff during lessons, projects, and student activities. By fostering inclusivity, students help to build a strong, supportive community within RP.

Enterprising

Students take responsibility for their actions and show initiative in contributing to the RP community. This includes conducting themselves responsibly on campus, online, and during RP-related activities. Students are also expected to use social media thoughtfully, exercising maturity and respect in their communications. Demonstrating initiative and ownership in addressing issues or reporting concerns is also part of being enterprising.
