Audio Synthesis Studio

Audio Synthesis Studio

The Audio Synthesis Studio is a highly configurable learning space that supports teaching and research related to sonic arts. Students have access to digital audio workstations, MIDI controllers and keyboards, as well as analogue equipment for recording and mixing of audio post production, Foley, music, and sonic arts.

Foley Arts Studio

Foley Arts Studio

The Foley Arts Studio is the first ever full-scale Foley Arts Studio in Singapore, custom-built to support the Diploma in Sonic Arts at the STA. With acoustically-treated walls and noise isolation, students are able to create the quietest and most intimate sounds imaginable.

Game Production Studio

Game Production Studio

The Game Production Studio supports iterative game design and development work from concept to prototyping, testing and completed designs. This space hosts the creation of analogue and digital games that support classes, workshops, Final Year Projects & Portfolio Development.

Immersive Audio Suite

Immersive Audio Suite

The new Immersive Audio Suite is a specialised immersive audio production facility for recording, editing, and surround sound mixing. It is equipped with a 7.1.4 system and built for delivering Dolby Atmos content with 181 sound objects in a 3D space. Dolby Atmos is an industry benchmark for producing content that supports streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple, Amazon and Tidal.

Immersive Media Studio

Immersive Media Studio

Immersive Media Studio is a new dedicated space designed to support content creation. Students will learn how to create many varied contents such as virtual reality and 3D/360 videos, motion-capture animation, immersive lighting, projection mapping, and augmented reality content in an environment that supports safe exploration, experimentation and practice. The studio also allows students who are using immersive and virtual tools for place-making, experience design, and virtual prototyping. It is a professionally outfitted facility to test their ideas and fine-tune their creations.

Sound Recording Suites

Sound Recording Suites

The Sound Recording Suites are equipped with digital pianos, keyboards, MIDI sequencers, digital audio workstations, and a plethora of virtual instruments and programming software. It is designed for students to work on music theory, compositions, and arrangements in segregated suites.

Single Camera Studio

Television Studio

The Television Studio is a premium space where students learn the basics of multi-camera production, to planning and executing their own television shows. They get to experience different roles as they rotate from camera operators, to floor manager, vision mixer, sound, audio, lighting, and up through director and producer.

Atelier

The Atelier

The Atelier is a flexible workshop space where students begin their ideation journey and embark on the creation of costume and prop prototypes. Equipped with worktables and craft materials, The Atelier provides students with hands-on opportunities to design and experiment as they troubleshoot design challenges for ‘live’ performances.

Black Box

The Black Box

The Black Box is a flexible space offering various staging and lighting configurations to support a range of events, from performances to talks and film screenings. With a capacity of up to 120 pax, it is equipped with industry standard facilities and equipment to provide authentic learning experience for our learners.

Set Construction Studio

The Set Construction Studio

The Set Construction Studio is a multiuse venue that integrates a classroom and a spacious workshop equipped with ample single-phase and three-phase power supplies that provide an authentic and safe learning experience for students to practice rigging, set construction, electrical work, and staging setups. The studio also allows students to construct and test simple set and prop builds for production-related projects.

UX Studio

UX Studio

The UX Studio is a Rapid Prototyping and Modelling Lab that is outfitted with a wide and flexible range of tools that support the rapid realisation of design ideas into working three-dimensional models. It is equipped with 3D scanners and 3D printers.
