What You Will Learn

(This course is formerly known as Diploma in Game Design)

The world of gaming has moved beyond entertainment games, and game designers have expanded their scope to include gamification. Why? Because gamification applies game elements to something that is not a game to influence behavior to increase user engagement, loyalty and happiness!

Think about how Health Promotion Board use the Healthy365 app to encourage an entire population to start clocking steps for NTUC vouchers, or how Shopee uses its rewards system to attract customers to shop more online.

With design as its core, the Diploma for Game Design & Gamification develops graduates with transferable skills to design entertainment games not just for game companies, but to create gamification solutions for companies in industries such as health & wellness, hospitality, education and fintech.

What you will learn

  • Acquire technical and design skills to create successful board and digital games.
  • Develop agile project management and analytical skills
  • Employ gamification techniques in marketing campaigns and gamified learning.
  • Learn rapid prototyping, 2D and 3D asset creation, level design, system and interaction design, as well as augmented and virtual reality.
  • Experience industry immersion at leading game companies such as Gumi Asia, and Ubisoft, and organisations that require gamification solutions such as statutory boards, banks, schools, and hotels.

I always seek creative outlets that will allow me to express myself freely and DGD is the perfect place for that. In addition to developing useful skills in game production, I have also learnt transferable life skills such as organisational behaviour. It is especially helpful to have experienced and enthusiastic lecturers who came from the industry to share their experiences with us.
