Renamed from Common Arts, Design and Media Programme
The Common Arts, Media and Design Programme (CAP) is a one-year programme that serves as a way for students to explore the fascinating fields of art, design, and media.
The programme provides students with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of their own career aspirations before enrolling in a specialised or broad-based diploma.
CAP also immerses students in a spectrum of interdisciplinary skills and knowledge required by art, media, and design disciplines. The programme covers topics such as storytelling, drawing, design, user experience, digital content creation, and creative software competencies.
CAP serves as a foundational year for all diplomas in STA. Students will get to mingle with diploma students and learn first-hand from their peers.
In their first year, students participate in foundational modules that will help them discover the different related disciplines. This will allow them to familiarise themselves with RP's learning style and various aspects of the related fields of study before deciding on their choice of diploma.
During the second semester, students choose specialisation electives that provide them with first-hand experience and in-depth learning in their chosen area of expertise before they stream into their chosen discipline in year 2.
Students can choose one of the following diplomas:
